Hi Everyone,
The Project:
Software - Maya 2014
The car I have chosen to model is the Triumph Stag.
I have attempted to model the car using photos have taken but this has proven difficult to get the perspective to match the image I have taken, any tips on how to achieve accurate result using the photo matching method would be appreciated. I have now started the model using blueprints. I have a few screen shots and some clay render of were I am currently at with the project.
And some Images of the car
Since reviewing the last mesh I posted I found that it was a bit bumpy and the geometry was a bit too heavy. I have gone back a stage and redrawn my spline cage using less control points in the curves to give me a smoother result.
Using the new cage as a template to snap to I re modelled the Stags body work. I also added some splines along the surface to snap to, to make sure the surface was smooth and bump free.
I have continued with this process to get to the point I am at now. I have assigned a ramp shader to test the reflections and flow of the geometry. It is still a work in progress and I need to work on some areas like blending in the rear boot geometry and some problem areas in the surface.
The next stage would be breaking the geo into the car panels and adding some thickness.
